Vivek Edulakanti

Hi everyone, my name is Vivek, and I’m excited to be running for Vice-President of the UCL Conservative Society. I have been a committed Conservative Party member since I was 17, actively engaging in numerous school debates where I developed my ability to articulate ideas effectively.

I’ve participated in three major Question Time debates alongside MPs, Ministers, and other prominent political figures. Additionally, my experience working with the Rt Hon Michelle Donelan during her tenure as DCMS Minister has given me valuable insight into both party politics and parliamentary processes.

As Vice-President, I will work closely with the committee to uphold our society’s long-standing commitment to fostering open, respectful discussions — free from the pressures of ‘cancel culture.’ I believe free speech and expression are fundamental to healthy debate and constructive disagreement.

I also plan to expand our range of activities to enhance engagement. While maintaining our cherished ‘Port and Policy’ debates, I aim to introduce events that promote a deeper understanding of core Conservative values in a more accessible and engaging way.

I would be honoured to have your support and look forward to working with you to strengthen our society.
