Serving as the 24/25 Connect.ed Committee’s Events Officer has given me a deep appreciation for the Connect.ed community. Through organising and running successful social events, I was able to engage with a wide range of society members, learning about their diverse interests and helping to foster the vibrant atmosphere that defines Connect.ed. Beyond my event‐planning work, my role as a Research Assistant at the Institute for Fiscal Studies has strengthened my passion for research, making my connection to this society which is based upon research even stronger.

Therefore, I am running for the Treasurer position for the 25/26 Connect.ed Committee. My background in economics and finance, which acquired through work experience and my PPE studies, equips and excites me to take on the new Treasurer role. Crucially, my perspective as Events Officer has given me insight into how and where funds can be most effectively spent to boost society membership and increase event attendance. By transitioning from Events to Treasury, I will leverage these skills and experiences to bring tangible benefits to the society’s future growth. I would ensure that Connect.ed’s financial resources are used strategically to expand opportunities for members, enhance event accessibility, and strengthen long-term sustainability. With a proactive approach, I will ensure that Connect.ed’s financial decisions support its vibrant community, fostering both innovation and stability for the year ahead.
