Hey everyone! I’m running for Welfare Officer to make the CS Society more welcoming, useful, and fun—whether you're deep into coding or just figuring out what GitHub is. I study Computer Science and know getting involved can feel overwhelming, especially for beginners. I want to ensure that everyone feels just as welcome as experienced coders, creating an environment where no one feels out of place. I’ll set up a CS mega-calendar with all events not only from CS Society, but also other tech societies like AI Society, Data Science Society, FinTech Society, Technology Society and, more— all in one place, no more FOMO. To make coursework easier, I’d push for senior-led coursework guidance sessions, so if you’re stuck on an assignment or need help choosing modules, you’ll have support from those who’ve been through it before. Plus, I’ll work on providing more interdepartmental exposure, organising hands-on workshops that connect CS to fields like computational biology, quantitative finance, robotics, quantum computing and AI. I’m also committed to boosting female representation in tech by creating more opportunities for women to get involved. Most importantly, I want this role to be driven by what you need. I’ll create an anonymous feedback form, but whether it’s that or a quick chat, I’ll always be open to suggestions and I’ll act fast. I’d love to help make the society even better, and if you’re on board, I’d really appreciate your support.
