As both a passionate advocate for social media and a Classics nerd, I am excited to apply for the role of Social Media Secretary.

As an active member of the society, I have firsthand experience interacting with its social media content. As the society hosts a wide range of events, it can sometimes be challenging to keep track of everything- it is important to present information in an engaging and organised manner to ensure that members stay informed and excited about upcoming activities. My experience in the marketing team for UCL’s Classical Play has equipped me with the necessary skills for this situation. In collaboration with Dr Di Martino, I worked on a Padlet and Linktree page to display the events and social media platforms for the production in a visually stunning and digestible manner, streamlining the user experience and encouraging greater engagement.

Furthermore, my role in curating engaging visual content for the play's Instagram gave me experience in successfully increasing engagement. Additionally, in taking the initiative to recruit skilled photographers and organize studio bookings, I honed my ability to manage teams, coordinate schedules, and deliver compelling social media campaigns.

I believe that my creativity, enthusiasm and experience make me an ideal candidate for this role. The Classics Society has the potential to expand and refine its digital reach, attract new members, and build a strong online community, and I am eager to contribute to this growth.
