As a dedicated weekly attendee of Caledonian Society dance sessions for the past 1.5 years, I am deeply committed to CalSoc and would love the opportunity to contribute to its growth and success in the coming academic year!

Why CalSoc?

I first discovered CalSoc after seeing its performance at the Freshers’ Fair during my first year as a PhD student. From the moment I joined, I found a warm, welcoming, and supportive community—one that made London feel a little less big and scary. I want to ensure that future students, whether new to UCL or simply looking for a sense of belonging, can experience the same inclusivity and joy that CalSoc has given me.

Leadership & Experience

  • Director of “Cambridge cLASs” Scholarship Competition (5 years) 💼
  • Head of Logistics for my college’s May Ball (2000+ attendees, 200+ years of tradition) 🎉
  • CalSoc Regular – I know the society inside and out! 🗓️
  • PhD in Neuroscience and Mental Health – If I can untangle the mysteries of heart-brain interactions, I’m confident I can handle the logistics of a ceilidh (and the occasional chaos that ensues)! 🧠

My Vision for CalSoc

✅ Expand beginner-friendly sessions – Scottish Reeling should be accessible to all!

✅ Collaborate with other dance societies – Let’s share our passion and learn from others.

✅ Maintain our welcoming and inclusive community – Everyone should feel at home in CalSoc. Who knows, maybe you’ll even find your future flatmate there? (Has happened to me 😉)
