Remus Dan

Hi everyone! I'm Remus Dan, first year BA Philosophy and Economics student. BJJ has been a huge part of my university life so far, going for weekly training sessions, improving my strength and even participating in my first ever sports competition coming from a non-athletic background. I have grown to love BJJ for it's welcoming and open community, where training feels like a comforting destressing session amidst the chaos in our world. I want to help the society grow by ensuring that our finances are well-managed so that we can keep training affordable, improve our sessions, and bring in great opportunities for members. Being financially responsible is almost a part of my identity; I manage my finances well at university and always stick to my budget. I'm an excel wizard, tabulating my expenses every month and maximising my returns. I hope you'll have me as your treasurer for BJJ Society!

Tom Davies

I feel like I have found a home at BJJ Society this year. It has been such a welcoming place for me to start my training and being on that journey has really helped my settle in to university life. I would be honoured to have the opportunity to help pass on the experiences I’ve had to as many people as possible in the coming years.

Our sport is gaining a lot of attention these days. There are loads of people out there looking for a place to start but gyms can be expensive and a little scary for beginners. I’ve met plenty of people this year that were fascinated when they found out I had started BJJ but were still a little hesitant to start themselves. I was one of those people for a long time and I know that our society is the perfect place for them. I want to do everything I can to bring these people in and help them fall in love with the sport in the way that I have this year.

I care about this community and I would love to have the opportunity to serve it as best as I can. I hope you can trust in me to represent you all going forward.

Zamin Okhai

As treasurer, I promise to try my absolute hardest to scam every penny possible from the Students Union, and will spend it all on having fun with you lot 🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾
