I want to give back to the people who have become my support system in my first year. As secretary, I’d ensure the club stays organized and informed—whether that’s through clear monthly calendar summaries, regular bulletins, or keeping everyone up to date with key events and deadlines. I’d also take on the behind-the-scenes admin, from taking minutes during committee meetings to chasing up captains for race reports, making sure nothing gets missed.

Beyond the admin, I want to bring energy and engagement to the role—making updates clear, concise, and maybe even a bit fun (because who doesn’t love a well-timed motivational message?). Whether it's keeping things running smoothly in the background or getting stuck in down by the boats, I’d love to play a part in supporting the team. Plus, I’m keen to learn more about how the union works and find ways to make things even more efficient.

The role is what I make it, I know how important it is to keep things ticking over so the club can focus on what really matters—rowing, racing, and having a great time. I’d love the opportunity to be your next secretary!!

I believe RUMSBC's committee members work tirelessly to enhance our experience in terms of rowing and socially.  Although I am new to RUMSBC, I feel extremely welcomed into the family and am determined to wholeheartedly contribute to the boat club. I would greatly appreciate the honour, by serving as Secretary, of contributing the smooth running of the boat club by working collaboratively with other committee members. As an active member of the club, I have witnessed how strong organisation and clear communication is essential. I am a highly proactive and organised individual, evident by serving as an academic representative for my year. I thrive in team-based environments, making me well-suited to this role in both supporting committee and club members. As Secretary, I aim to improve the monthly calendar by reviewing the format and aesthetics. I plan on including a rowing puns section and include pictures of our successes as a source of motivation. In addition to this, I enjoy expressing my creative side whether that be photography or graphic design (with the help of Canva). Therefore, I plan to improve the design of the termly bulletin which would make reading it even more enjoyable. I would love the opportunity to find out more about how the boat club runs and to use my skills, such as enthusiasm and organisation, to help drive the success of RUMSBC. (I can also touch type really fast so minutes for the meetings would be ready in no time.)
