Election post

With my undying passion and love for bioethics, health policies, and Jeremy Bentham - if you can’t tell by now, I am DETERMINED to be on committee, and thus running for Vice President.
On a side note, medical humanities evolved as a whole through a group of bioethicists who were determined to establish bioethics as a discipline. It was an excuse to develop the field of bioethics, and eventually succeeded in pre-establishing the foregrounds of philosophy and theology within the field. With that in mind, it is important to be reminded of how we try to apply the philosophical nature of bioethics to the applied side of the discipline, to try to be grounded to the roots of moral theories, and how they manifest in real world applications. As vice president, I would love to help bridge the gap between the ideas prominent throughout the history of bioethics, and phrase them in discussions relevant to contemporary clinical applications and the current medical law.
I hope to see my visions for this society to come to fruition, and aid our president to foster a strong, connected community within the vision. Bioethics and medical law is more than just abstract concepts but vital discussions that shape our future. I want every member to feel welcomed, engaged, and inspired - just as I was, when I was first exposed to bioethics and medical law.
So, vote for me!
