Election post
Bhangra has been such a huge part of my first year at UCL, and being president means I'll be able to give back so much to the society which is now like family to me.
As president, my goal would be to foster a sense of community and belonging. I believe dance connects people in a more unique and deeper way than any other hobby. Whether it be conducting more open sessions, bringing in experienced Bhangra dancers for workshops, I want to make UCL Bhangra a society for everyone.
Uni is an uncertain time for everyone and I want to make the society a safe space, help people who are shy or apprehensive come out of their shell and help them shine, just like the society and Rangeela helped me.
I've been the head of a team while working with an NGO in India, and have planned many events for the organisation.
I may only have a year of experience with Bhangra, but I strongly resonate with the society and would like to give the next set of members the same experience (if not better) I've had.
