Barbell Club: Treasurer

Hi, my name is Raashi and I am running to be your Treasurer for UCL Barbell 2025/26! 

As a member of the club for the past 3 years, I've seen the club's growth both as a committee member and a club member, giving me insight on the ethos and character of the club. I aim to continue supporting the club through the role of Treasurer. As a previous committee member, I have been part of organising merch, coordinating competitions and liaising with other committee roles, all of which have given me essential organisational and communication skills that I will carry forward. My previous experience as a private tutor and being part of research teams further reinforces these skills, and demonstrates my reliability when working in a team.

I am passionate about the club, having been welcomed into it myself, and I remember the warm and friendly atmosphere that encouraged me to try something new and lift weights - I want to be able to recreate that environment for all new members of the club. Through my role as Treasurer I will liaise closely with other committee members and with the student union to ensure the continued success of the club, and maintain our funding to allow more group training and coaching sessions, further merch orders and hopefully even more socials to welcome new members for the academic year!
