Arts and Sciences Society: Treasurer

I am excited to apply for the role of Treasurer for the Arts and Sciences Society. As a dedicated member of the BASc community, I have actively participated in nearly all society events, from the Freshers’ bar night to the recent BASc Ball, and I am a familiar face in the common room. This engagement has given me a strong understanding of the society’s activities and the financial responsibility required to sustain and grow them.

My background in finance and risk management equips me with the necessary skills to manage the society’s budget effectively. I previously interned at Santander UK, gaining hands-on experience in financial risk assessment, and I was also Head of House at my school, overseeing budgets and event planning. Additionally, having grown up in a finance-focused household, I have long been familiar with financial management principles. My academic choices within Arts and Sciences reflect my passion for mathematics and economics, reinforcing my ability to handle financial planning with precision and strategic insight.

If elected, I will ensure transparency, responsible budgeting, and innovative financial strategies to enhance society events and opportunities. I am eager to contribute and make a tangible impact on the society’s future.

Hi everyone! I am excited to run for the role of Treasurer of the BASc Society as I am passionate to contribute to making our society grow. I have had experience to manage expenses as the treasurer of my high school student council, where I managed budgets for the many events we held, organized fundraising events, and kept everything transparent.

If I am elected treasurer, my main goal is to make sure everything is transparent. Meaning that everyone is aware of the spendings, of how we are going to use the money and use it wisely. I want to work closely with committee members to allocate funds correctly in order to hold events, activities and opportunities for everyone. Whether it’s social events or professional development, I am looking forward to be part of the community.

I believe that good financial management can make a huge difference in how the society runs, and I am ready to put in the work. Vote for me as treasurer for BASc Society!
