Chloe Chen

Hi, my name is Chloe Chen, and I am running for the Magazine Editor position in the election.

Entering university, I sought to continue my longstanding passion in art, so I joined the Art Society and attended weekly Life Drawing sessions. From there, I became aware of the Compost Art Zine and was frequently amazed by the featured artworks. From comic characters to still life paintings, I really enjoyed the great diversity of works included. On top of the visuals, the textual supplements are particularly inspiring as well, explaining the artists’ thoughts behind their work and giving interesting background information related to the artwork.

Previously founding the Comic Creation Club in my high school and serving as the chief editor of my school’s student magazine the Cuda Column, I am very experienced with art-making softwares (Procreate, Adobe Illustrator) and formatting softwares (Adobe InDesign, Canva). I am eager to apply those past skills of formatting art and text in a balanced and aesthetically pleasing way to the Compost Art Zine. I am also a timely and organised person who believes in schedules and planning and deadlines. Painting a mental picture of my second year in uni, I really look forward to continue to work as an editor for a creative publication and put in my best effort to broadcast the talented artwork of individuals to the greater world!

Please vote for me:)
