Ladies and gentlemen,
Over the past two years, I’ve had the privilege of being part of UCL Boxing, and one thing has become clear—our FUNDING is SIGNIFICANTLY more restricted compared to other university boxing societies. It’s no secret that universities like King’s College and Cambridge host large-scale events like Clash at King’s, NOT because they have better athletes or more dedication, but simply because they have the financial backing to do so.
Yet, every year at BUCS, we bring home multiple medals—it’s fair to say we have one of the strongest university boxing teams in the UK. And every Wednesday beginners / intermediate sessions are ever so packed.-- WE ARE A BIG TEAM!!--
There’s NO REASON why we shouldn’t be hosting events of a similar scale. The ONLY thing holding us back is funding, and that’s something I want to help improve. I’m not here to lead—I’m here to contribute. My goal isn’t to take charge but to find ways to bring in more sponsorships, work with the president and social secretary, and create more opportunities for the club.
If elected, I’ll focus on securing additional funding sources so that finances are no longer a limiting factor. **More FUNDING means better events, better opportunities, and a stronger club overall.**
This isn’t about making big promises—it’s about taking simple, effective steps to improve the club for everyone. And I WILL MAKE IT HAPPEN
