The Ahmadiyya Muslim Students' Society is a society which was originally founded in the late 1990s. UCL historically had a quite active society about 7 years ago- and grew to become integral to community cohesion and fostered many great relationships between societies and people on campus in a way that wasn't expected. I want to give my best effort to try and do the same and bring a new dynamic to our society. We wish to engage in more interfaith discussions and exhibit Ahmadiyya Islam's practices as an exemplar for people to recognise. To me, this society does not just represent my entire personal beliefs, but it also is an outlet for me to explore faith and university life in a balanced way. I am standing for president to work with fellow Ahmadi students to find their footing at university while also making meaningful relations with those of other faiths and none.
This past year, we held many internal activities such as society dinners, Friday prayers, and regular discussion meetings and also started with iftaar activities in the recent weeks of Ramadhan. We also successfully planned and executed an event that was more outward-facing for the wider student body on Science vs Religion: Islam's View. The feedback for our first event was overwhelmingly positive, and we hope to work towards hosting more. Vote for me to help grow a society that fosters discussion, faith, and community at UCL
