Hi, my name is Idunu, I study Chemical Engineering, and I am standing for the Sponsorship and Careers Officer position because I want to help strengthen the professional foundation of ACS in a way that reflects our members' ambition and potential. From receiving spring week offers from BNP Paribas, Macquarie and Nomura, to gaining early exposure to firms like Morgan Stanley and HSBC, one thing has stood out to me - access is everything. Too often, the lack of early guidance becomes a barrier before someone even has the chance to realise their capability.
What excites me most about this role is the opportunity to be intentional about the way we engage with firms and present our members. It’s not just about sponsorship — it’s about positioning ACS as a society whose members are not only talented but also commercially aware, prepared, and worth investing in. I want to create pathways that not only bring opportunities closer to us but also make our members feel seen, supported and ready to step into those spaces with confidence.
Through my own experiences tutoring others, I have built strong communication skills and learnt how to bring people together and translate opportunity into action. I believe I bring the initiative and insight needed to make this role meaningful - and I would love the chance to do that for ACS.
