What do you hope to achieve in the role if you are elected?
  • Increase funding for student activities – Allocate more money towards clubs & societies, and increase the provision of subsidised trips
  • More performance opportunities – Provide more hours for artsUCL and cultural performances
  • Greater and improved space for activities – Open up spaces on campus to be used for student activities and improve the current facilities
  • Break down barriers to engagement – Provide a bigger variety of opportunities for students to get involved with
  • Home for SU and TeamUCL– Lobby UCL to create distinct spaces for students to participate in activities at the heart of campus
What will you bring to this role (e.g. experience, skills or qualities)?

Some of my achievements this year as your Activities & Engagement Officer include:

  • Set up a ‘Taster Fund’ for clubs & societies to run more taster sessions
  • Organised the Intercultural Summit, providing a space for intercultural societies to collaborate
  • Expanded artsUCL, creating more pathways to get involved and increased allocated time for productions in the theatre
  • Made Varsity bigger and better, adding more events, with new society involvement
  • Expanded activity at East, helping societies run events there and introduced the Swimathon
  • Secured TeamUCL Gym refurb, improving facilities for students
Please summarise why students should vote for you.

As your current Activities & Engagement Officer I have worked hard to improve student life at UCL, gaining lots of experience working with clubs & societies. Although I have made some great progress, by making Varsity better, increasing inter-society collaboration, and engaging more students, there is still lots more to do. Speaking to students, I understand their key issues and being in the role I have already developed key relationships with UCL and SU staff, allowing me to tackle these easier.

I will provide more space, more funding, and more opportunities.

Student Life Is For Everyone!
