Hi everyone, my name is Noah, a second year student and part time DJ. I have thoroughly enjoyed being part of ABACUS, meeting amazing people and having a blast at events. I believe my long standing experience with ABACUS and well-rounded knowledge on how events are run make me a strong contender for the presidency.
What initially drew me to ABACUS was the opportunity to connect with both like-minded and diverse individuals. ABACUS truly felt like a second home, especially this year when I became the Abadad for Adoption Centre (fam 1). As the name suggests, it's the best Abafam, what can I say
From organising Abafam events, leading societies and competitions in school, being part of the staff team at clubbing events, interning at an advertising agency to recently hosting my own party and much more, I have developed strong leadership, organisational and management skills, particularly in conflict resolution and mediating between people.
Vision
While it's important to keep the exciting clubbing events going next year, I'd also like to introduce new activities just as thrilling — currently thinking of paintball and more shows like Take Me Out as a start, providing more fun ways to connect with others.

I have met many close friends through ABACUS, loved the fun, chaos, and memories that it has brought to me. With the rest of the committee, I will make sure that ABACUS will be even more fun and crazier than ever 🫢

Hi everyone! I am Jovie, current ABACUS FYR, running to be your president. Moving from Hong Kong to London was a huge step outside my comfort zone, but ABACUS became my anchor. Through attending events, I found my closest group of friends and a strong support system of seniors that made adjusting so much easier. Their advice shaped my freshers experience and now I want to do the same for others.
As President, I will build a more inclusive and engaging environment for all members. My initiatives include:
- Socialising beyond clubbing – Organising new events back in HK and a fresher’s picnic to help new members settle in; expanding our scope of events to game nights, pub socials, and career events; collaborating with other societies and other ABACUS for more social opportunities
- Reduce ticket prices – Working closely with London ABACUS to secure a greater ticket allocation for our members and negotiate fairer ticket prices so that events are more affordable for everyone
- Stronger ABAFamily bonds – Hosting more inter-family events like sports competition, quiz nights, and team challenges to increase engagement within families and strengthen the friendships across different year groups
Since becoming an FYR and working closely with the committee, not only did I understand the internal logistics of running events, but also acquired strong leadership and communication skills. My experience, dedication, and ability to unite people make me the ideal candidate to help lead ABACUS forward.
