Women's Engineering Society: Welfare Officer

Hi! My name is Abby, and I am a second-year Electronics and Electrical Engineering student. As a woman in Engineering, I know it can sometimes be daunting or uncomfortable when you are the only one or one of the few women in a room full of men during an Engineering event. From my experience in the Women's Engineering Society, I have found a space where I feel free and comfortable, where people understand my struggles and a place to converse with people who are like me.

If I were granted the opportunity to be your welfare officer, I hope to support the community of engineers, especially women, in creating a safe and comfortable space for women across STEM to network, grow or hang out. The UCL Women's Engineering Society plays an important role in my University life and I sincerely hope that I can play a part in it. :)
