Victoria Yew

Hi! I’m Victoria :)

Having played volleyball since high school at state level in Malaysia and Melbourne, as well as in the TeamUCL Volleyball League, I've seen firsthand the friendship and enjoyment that come from spending time with fellow volleyball players at UCL.

I am a firm believer that volleyball is about more than just the game itself; it is also about the friendships and memories formed off the court. As your Social Secretary, (1) I hope to instill the same sense of belonging and excitement in every member of our club.

Beyond organising social events, I'm committed to providing opportunities for everyone to come together, establish personal connections, and create lasting experiences on and off the court. (2) I aim to organise more social events outside of social sessions, including collaborating with other universities’ volleyball societies to organise joint social events, to strengthen our connections with the broader UCL community. (3) I want to create a more active society, not only for regulars but also for those who are interested in the sport and want to be a part of it.

By fostering an inclusive and engaging social calendar, my vision is to make UCL Volleyball Club not only a space for athletic development but also a community where long-lasting friendships can be formed!

Can’t wait to serve and lead for ‘24/’25!

Naqi Azizi

What's up everyone! My name is Naqi and I'm excited to run for Social Secretary!

Truthfully, I'd want to contribute more to volleyball society as it's done a lot for me physically and mentally. Because of this I'd love a chance to give something back and the best way that I see fit to do so is to help organise some social events for current and for new members in the next academic year.

If I were to be elected as social secretary, I'd work hard to employ a mix of social events like creative socials where volleyball can join up with art or drama society to do drawing/painting or collective art pieces accompanied with some general knowledge trivia nights. I'd try and incorporate some moving activity socials like playing bulldog in Somerstown, indoor football or just simple laid back activities like karaoke or bowling as they're always pretty cool and widely well received. I'd plan on keeping it chill but also have a couple of pub socials in case people want to have a drink or two, or join me in a Pepsi Pint!

By applying for this role I'd want to emulate the same effort that past members and social secretaries have put in so far - striving to maintain and grow the great community that's already established!

That's about it from me so vote for me and I'll promise to keep up the vibes and energy on and off the court!

Agnese Venezia

I am standing as social secretary because I would love to organise events that will not only strengthen our bonds as teammates but also create lasting memories that go beyond the volleyball court.
