Izach Castro

Hey there, I'm Izach (aka short boy with the funny volleyball glasses), and here's my plan as a HEVO!

1. Maximise session time

2 hours isn't enough for fun! I aim to maximise playing time so that everyone gets a chance to play and enjoy themselves, perhaps by running new activities or drills and I hope to run sessions in a time-efficient manner.

2. Skill improvement

With over 5 years of experience, I am driven to lead the growth of all volleyball players. Having experience in coaching, I can mentor those who need help with their technique or those who are new to the sport. Whether it be passing dimes, setting butter, serving up some heat, you can come to me for advice on how to improve!

3. Boosting engagement

Volleyball is slowly becoming more popular, this year more than ever. I aim to attract more people to our sessions and ensure they experience a good quality of play. I am passionate about finding ways to develop the sport, and I consider myself to be a friendly and approachable person, allowing me to engage with players at sessions. I want to share my passion with as many of you as possible, and becoming a HEVO is something that would allow me to do so! I will always be there to listen to any suggestions or feedback you have for sessions, as well as any general chit-chat! I am here to support everyone and ensure that the court atmosphere is positive and friendly for all, so please vote me as your HEVO if you love volleyball! (If you don't then you're a hater <3).

Kobi Concepcion

Dear Tim and Ethan stans,

My name is Kobi and I am excited to run for the position of Higher Education Volleyball Officer (HEVO). Having only recently started my volleyball journey a few months ago, I hope to approach this role with the same newfound energy and readiness to learn that I have for the game.

Joining the club as a new player, I recognise that some members may be learning the game, just like myself. Thus, as a HEVO, I aim to build on the already welcoming environment that has made social volleyball sessions so enjoyable and inclusive. One way this will be achieved is through the addition of monthly feedback surveys for members themselves to share their experiences and suggest potential improvements for the sessions.

I will also work with other committee members to increase community outreach as a club, such as inter-uni events to keep the trend of dominating KCL, themed tournaments and mini-games (anyone up for some seated volleyball?) for variety, and community music playlists to truly utilise In2Sports's speakers - these are further glimpses of my envisioned ideas for this role!

Vote for a HEVO who is ready to learn and lead. Vote for a HEVO who is willing to carry the ball bag everywhere - even on the Central Line.

Fly High,

Kobi (that was satire I promise)
