Meerah Perinpanathan

I’d like to be the social secretary of UCL Tamil Society as I believe it is important to appreciate our Tamil heritage and the unique opportunity the role presents to unite individuals from diverse backgrounds. I am passionate about creating a social calendar that not only honours our cultural traditions but also strengthens the ties among our committee members.

My organisation abilities ensure that I can cater to the wide-ranging interests of our members, creating an environment where everyone feels included and excited to participate. Effective communication is one of my strengths, allowing me to articulate plans clearly, gather support, and keep in constant touch with all the committee members. My proficiency in multitasking and managing time efficiently enables me to deal with various tasks e.g. tailoring each social gathering to the preferences of our members. Above all, my commitment and genuine concern for the needs and preferences of other members will drive me to create memorable and enjoyable socials for all.

Ashvini Arulrajah

Standing for the position of Social Secretary is an exciting opportunity for me to contribute my skills, passion, and commitment to our Tamil Society. My passion for the Tamil community coupled with my proven organizational and leadership abilities, positions me as an ideal candidate for this role.

Effective communication has been at the core of my approach during my time in my sixth form prefect team where we planned culture day for our whole school which included liaising with staff at the school for authorisation. My collaborative nature ensures a harmonious working relationship with other committee members to successfully execute events.  My experience in planning and organising a holiday including travel logistics, accommodations and activities with my friends has provided me with valuable insights to plan and execute a seamless and memorable experience for everyone.

Time management and attention to detail are integral to my organizational style, which I have built on further since working in a busy community pharmacy where I ensure patients get their correct medicines promptly. Adaptability is a key strength of mine, allowing me to navigate challenges with composure and find creative solutions to guarantee the successful execution of our events.

Thank you for considering my application I am eager to bring my skills, passion, and dedication to the role of Social Secretary for the Tamil Society :)
