Peer-to-peer collaboration in education plays a key role in medical school and throughout our medical career - fellow students offering their teaching and advice, so that their experiences may help others who are due to undergo the same challenges they did.

Having been part of SurgSoc’s education subcommittee this year, I have gained valuable insight into the structure and organisation of this subcommittee - how it functions and the programs it provides.

As the SurgSoc educational officer, I would like to continue providing high-quality tutorials for both pre-clinical and clinical years, running exam revision workshops and mock CPSA workshops. Next year I will be in year 5, so I’ll be in a position to have context for both clinical and pre-clinical education.

Among my past experiences, I was the head of the medical society in my high school, where I successfully organized and facilitated tutorials and talks, demonstrating my proficiency in event coordination and educational delivery.

I’m also a volunteer for the Target Medicine scheme, tutoring year 12s from underprivileged backgrounds to aid their medical application, which has honed my ability to tailor educational resources to diverse learning needs.
