Hi fellow STARs! My name is Chloe and I am currently the Treasurer of UCL STAR. After an amazing year with this year’s committee, I am excited to build on Valerie’s success and improve our society in the next academic year of 24/25.

These are my goals for STAR:

  • Aim to hold an event/month (talks, events etc…)
  • Volunteering days for STAR society members to come together to volunteer once a month
  • Increase outreach of UCL STAR via social media platforms such as WhatsApp, Instagram etc..
  • Raise awareness about STAR’s ongoing initiatives such as their blog posts, petitions and nationwide events
  • Continue hosting STAR's annual Winter Bakesale

I would appreciate your vote to achieve these goals! If you have any queries or suggestions please feel free to message or email me! Thank you.

As someone who has been actively involved in helping refugees with the London Refugee Council, I have witnessed firsthand the positive impact a team with a common vision can have on the lives of various individuals.

I am standing for President of the Student Action for Refugees Society because I want to unite like-minded students around this problem. The number of refugees is expected to increase in the following years due to escalating conflicts and the growing impact of the climate crisis. Together, we can guarantee that refugees receive the support they need during these challenging times.

I am committed to taking this society forward by implementing a range of initiatives that will promote our mission and support refugees. For example, I plan to expand the society's outreach and membership, launch advocacy and awareness campaigns, and establish partnerships with various institutions to shine a light on this issue. Additionally, I aim to promote opportunities for members to work with various organizations that address the needs of refugees in the United Kingdom.

Most importantly, I want to hear from each and every member about what you want to see from this society, how you would like to support refugees, and what ideas you have.

Thank you for considering my candidacy. I look forward to serving as president of the Student Action for Refugees Society.
