I’m Esther, a 2nd year Psychology and Language Sciences Student, running for the Welfare Officer. I am dedicated to fostering a vibrant and inclusive community where every member feels valued and supported.

Firstly, I am committed to foster a welcoming atmosphere and sense of belonging within our society. Through lively events, engaging discussions, and collaborative projects, I aim to ensure every voice is heard and respected. I understand the paramount importance of event accessibility. I will ensure events cater to diverse needs and preferences. Also, with a thorough understanding of SU resources and services, I will be ready to direct members towards academic counsel, mental health aid, or any other necessary assistance.

From my experience with Young Minds, which focuses hugely on diversity and inclusivity, and as Treasurer of the Student Action Against Homelessness Society, where we witnessed remarkable growth in numbers, I am adept at steering impactful initiatives and am ready to put in the work needed. Being treasurer for a year has shown me the admin needed and I will be ready to help the treasurer/president whenever needed! I've also been editor for my school Editorial Board (quarterly newsletter), so I have relevant experience in producing quality magazine editions.

Thank you :)
