Julia Alonso-Gautrais

Hi! My name is Julia, I’m Franco-Brazilian and I’m studying History, Politics and Economics.

I joined RAX in September, and it’s already been such an amazing journey! I've had so much fun representing UCL in competitive events, I've made so many memories, and I've met lovely people!

For this reason, my primary motivation for running for committee is to support the incredible community that RAX is! I’ve admired this years’ committee members for how approachable, friendly, and supportive they were at social runs, socials, races, bucs...and I really hope to be able to do the same for others :)

I also want to be part of the committee because I’m really passionate about running. I started running short distance when I was in year 8, and then gradually ended up running middle distance. I have now accumulated a some training and races experiences and I hope to contribute to the committee by sharing this knowledge.

I’ve applied specifically for the Treasurer position because I want to specialise in economics in my third year, so it would be a nice way to combine both my academic and running interests!

Elizabeth Mauro

I’m Elizabeth, a 3rd year Law with French Law student vying for the position of RAX Treasurer! I feel well-suited given experience as a competitive runner, committee member, and aspiring barrister, coupled with my unwavering commitment to RAX.

Whilst abroad in Paris, I remained involved with RAX as your Social Media Officer, Eurostar-ing back for UCL Medley Relay, BUCS, and Varsity. I am ecstatic to return to UCL, with renewed enthusiasm to contribute, as your teammate and treasurer, to the team that has been a cornerstone of my uni years.

As a mid-distance runner, now impending marathoner - with love for road, trail, and track alike - I aim to support the diverse endeavors of all RAXers. As Committee member, I can offer to organise and lead longer marathon training type runs requested by team members and trail outings for fellow forest lovers.

Key Treasurer attributes are fiscal organisation and time management; I honed these skills whilst juggling 4 committee roles across UCL and Assas Paris while marathon training solo. As Bar Outreach Officer for UCL’s Law Society, I have mastered effective communication with administrators, lawyers, and students to plan and budget yearly sponsorships, careers panels, and socials; this will serve me well to deftly manage responsibilities as RAX Treasurer.

I see the opportunity to serve as Treasurer as evolution of prior roles (Social Media, This Girl Can Officer), an honour to serve you, and chance to further share my passion for running.

Akira Wellsteed

I love RAX and simply would like to contribute to the team. As a treasurer I would make sure we get the funding required, and use it in a reasonable manner. Also I am present at all kinds of events ranging from LUCA XC races to Monday social runs, making me a well-known (?) member in the society.

Tess Farr

Hi guys! My name is Tess Farr, and I'm running for RAX Treasurer. I’m a second year studying History, Politics, and Economics, and I’ve been one of your Athletics co-captains for the past year. I have really enjoyed this position and would love to continue helping out on RAX committee in a role that allows me to be involved in all three main aspects of RAX. I’ve had a lot of fun on and off the track and have also enjoyed being involved with cross-country and social runs! Over the past year, I've run with RAX in Leeds and Sheffield for BUCS, helped organise events such as LUCA Indoors and Varsity, marshalled at all of the LUCA XC fixtures, and always enjoyed a chill social run with the slow 5k group.

The organisational experience I've had this past year has helped prepare me for the role of treasurer. Additionally, I'm very familiar with Excel as an economics student, and I track my own finances in weekly spreadsheets. As treasurer, I would love to work with with other committee members to build on the success of the UCL Medley Relay and make it an annual event that all of the London universities look forward to.

Participating in RAX has been a highlight of my time at UCL, and I would love to help the club maintain its inclusive and friendly atmosphere as treasurer!!
