The likes of the horsemeat scandal, FlappyBird and Macklemore’s ‘Thrift Shop’ take us back to a different era, but did you know that 2013 also marks the year of the last FEMALE RUMS President... That’s right, it has been a whole decade!

My name is Rish and I am thrilled to be running for this role. After spending two terms working closely alongside the current president, I feel that this role is the perfect progression for myself and for the future of RUMS.

I have loved being Treasurer this year and have gained invaluable experience which has materialised into record-breaking profits and the biggest merch drop yet! I really hope that my involvement across many projects (e.g. Take Me Out) has proved that I am dedicated to RUMS and its wonderful community.

Looking forward to the future, if elected, I would work tirelessly to:

  • Liaise with the other London Med School Presidents to offer more UH collaborations: e.g. inter-society socials, joint academic conferences and UH take me out...

  • Properly prioritise charity. The fantastic work of RUMS WFC and RUMS Spectrum have particularly inspired me to increase our efforts as a committee to do more!

  • Start tackling the increasing issue of burnout. Emphasise the importance of life outside of academia and work with the medical school to action positive change

  • Strengthen our community through a more diverse and inclusive RUMS Calendar
