Alesha Parkar

Hi everyone! I'm a second year student studying Biological Sciences hoping to be your Welfare Officer next year.  Being a part of PakSoc as the Charity Officer this year has given me an incredible insight into the workings of the society, and the changes that need to be made to improve it and make it a more welcoming and inclusive environment.  If elected, I hope to build on:

• Wellbeing of our members: enhance the support systems that exist within the Pakistan Society, whether it's providing resources or guidance to anyone facing academic or personal mental health challenges
• Mental health awareness: hold events and workshops to destigmatise the discussion of mental health in our community
• Communication: encourage more communication between the members of the society and the committee to make sure your feedback is heard, and our events are catered towards you
• Diversity: have more events that represent and raise awareness about the different cultures, religions, and ethnicities within Pakistan
