Paediatric and Child Health Society: Treasurer

I am standing for Treasurer because I hope to contribute meaningfully to this society by effectively managing finances, promoting the voices in our diverse society and leading initiatives to increase access to the Paediatric field. 

My involvement in leading multiple social events and a volunteering project named Suture the Future over the past year has equipped me with invaluable insights, such as successfully budgeting and managing projects. I have excellent time management skills, having balanced these commitments with my second year of Medicine. Furthermore, my time on the Friends of MSF Treasurer subcommittee has helped me to understand this role very well, putting me in an excellent position to positively help the society.

Specifically, after collaborating with our committee, I am eager to strategically allocate resources to empower our members with the tools and resources needed to explore Paediatric careers and engage with volunteer opportunities supporting children with health conditions.

I have long-term volunteer experience with children, including helping those with learning difficulties at a summer camp which has taught me that empathy and good communication skills are essential to understanding a child's needs and advocating for their voice. This will help to inform and focus efforts in our volunteering projects to make the greatest impact.
