Hi everyone! My name is Marilyn and I am thrilled to be running for Events Coordinator.

When I first joined MT soc, I felt very welcomed by friendly committees. Then, I met a lot of incredible and talented members, which made me want to work with them and become more involved in MT soc by joining the committee.

Having participated in multiple events held by MT soc such as the Christmas Cabaret and the Fresher’s Musical, I understand the amount of work and dedication needed to put together a good show. Nevertheless, I am committed to giving my all to organize fun and memorable events for all society members.

With my experience of working as an event assistant, I learnt how to plan events in a professional manner. Being an Academic Rep on UCL’s foundation course and the assistant producer of the Blooms show, Chess, equipped me with communication, organizing, and problem-solving skills, which would be vital for coordinating events.

If I were to be elected as an event coordinator, I would make efforts to accommodate the diverse interests of performers across various musical genres, while also appealing to broader audience. I would bring in new ideas such as medley performances combining different musicals. I am determined to create an atmosphere where members can bond over their passion for musical theatre and ignite the interest of musical theatre among audiences through our events.
