Music Society: Treasurer

Greetings, fellow musicians! I'm Benson, and I'm thrilled to present myself as a candidate for Treasurer for the upcoming academic year! 

I’m a 2nd-year maths undergraduate with a passion for conducting, and an active member of both the chamber choir and symphony chorus. I deeply value the friendship that I made and the amazing experience that our society provided, both of which instilled in me a strong desire to give back.

Recently, I have been in close collaboration with the Treasurer of Shakespeare Company on an upcoming production, and have gained invaluable insight into the responsibilities of the position. Working alongside professionals in UCOpera this year, coupled with my background in theatre, confidently equips me for one of the biggest challenges of this role.

I aspire to achieve two main goals: firstly, I will endeavour to secure quality sponsorships for our society. Through strategic partnerships, we can enhance both the quality and reach of our concerts. I will seek sustainable financial support to maintain our ensembles, socials, tours and scholarships - which brings me to my second aim: I'm deeply committed to upholding and expanding the scholarship schemes established this year. These initiatives demonstrate our commitment to nurturing talent and fostering inclusivity within our musical community.
