MUA Society: President

I am Nafisa, the current President of UCL MUA.

I eagerly joined UCL Cosmetology, envisioning a vibrant community of makeup enthusiasts. However, upon discovering the lack of regular events and notice of the society being shut down, I felt compelled to revitalise the society. We rebranded and revamped the society to UCL MUA with a new constitution, transforming it into a dynamic hub for makeup lovers 💕

I've secured a personal makeup sponsor, enabling us to host monthly workshops, provide big gift bags at socials, and offer makeup bags at our welcome fair. Our makeup crew has contributed to various projects, including kpop music videos, UCL theatre productions, and pole showcases. In the next few days we are collaborating with Christine-Bundell Makeup Academy to launch a SFX makeup course. Our recent affiliation with artsUCL has expanded our opportunities for funding and collaboration amongst other arts societies.

I have lined up collaborations for our crew to do makeup for an opera show and collaborations with influencers but details for next year you all👀 I aspire to forge partnerships with more sponsors enabling us more opportunities, organize regular editorial photoshoots, and launch the MUA journal termly. I aim to continue providing opportunities for our talented crew, offering opportunities for external shoots and theatrical productions beyond UCL. I firmly believe in the power of makeup as a form of self-expression and am dedicated to fostering a vibrant community.
