Medical Society: Secretary

Hi! I’m Arnav, a second-year medic, and I am running to be your Medical Society Secretary. I especially appreciate the variety of academic pursuits, specialties, and learning resources in MedSoc, and I hope to help bring it together to be a helping hand to other committee members. Having been in various RUMS VP subcommittees and as a Spectrum volunteer, I have worked to hone my coordination, flexibility, and teamwork; these will greatly aid me in delivering my aims.

My aims are to:

• Run the MedSoc weekly newsletter, adding personal reflections, collating current affairs within MedSoc subcommittees, highlighting CV-building opportunities, and creating story summaries.

• To include student contributions to the newsletter to increase member engagement - interesting facts, research, tips and tricks for revision, etc.

• Help with communications between the different specialty subcommittees, including helping with event organisation and suggesting innovative ideas for collaborations, such as mixed specialty seminars with a clinical focus.

• Revitalise! Update the tutorial repository from the previous secretary, collate important exam and welfare resources - in cooperation with Education Chairs and the Welfare Officer - and incorporate social media posts for clarity.

• Work with colleagues to organise and efficiently run seminars and conferences with unique talks/workshops by leading professionals.
