Kamya Gandhi

Hi I'm Kamya, and I'm excited to run for Obs & Gyne Chair!

As a Fundraising Officer on the current committee, I have worked closely with the Happy Baby Community. If elected, I want to strengthen our collaboration and introduce new ideas to support the incredible work of this charity, ensuring our society plays an active role in supporting women's health beyond the university setting.

Helping in this year's Inter-London Obstetrics and Gynecology Conference has given me a deep appreciation for the dedication and organisation needed to lead this society. If elected, I will be committed to deliver another excellent Conference, building on previous successes.

My aims:

  • Host debates on interesting hot topics within Obs&Gyne, creating a space for meaningful discussions in our society
  • Utilize existing contacts to reach inspiring O&G doctors to establish a mentorship program, providing networking, shadowing, and CV-building opportunities
  • Educate and engage our community on underrepresented or emerging women's health topics through our social media platform
  • Form a network of clinical year students passionate, or who have completed an IBSC in women's health, to mentor and support preclinical and IBSC students

My roles on the Paediatric Medsoc and RUMS Badminton committee have equipped me with leadership, time management, and teamwork skills that I will employ to further the growth and success of this society.

I hope you consider me to be your representative :)

Rishika Saxena

I’m Rishika and I’m running to be your next O&G Chair!

This year, it was a pleasure to be conference coordinator for our successful inter-university conference. I’m keen to utilise this background & my experiences as publicity officer for various medical society committees to enhance our society’s growth and outreach.

Here are my key proposals for the upcoming year:

  • Expanding the scope of our inter-university conference by introducing a broader range of workshops and widening participation to foster a rich networking environment.
  • A continued strong partnership with our nominated charity the Happy Baby Community, to share their mission via our conference and fundraising activities.
  • Boosting social media engagement as a platform for easily accessible information on regular O&G updates, social media takeovers and career advice.
  • Launching a fortnightly research roundtable to give students an opportunity to discuss & present research.
  • More social events to bring students with a shared interest in O&G together!

I would be honoured to implement my ideas to advance education and advocacy in women's health.

Thank you for your time!
