As Academic Secretary, I hope to contribute to the betterment of LSS for members through assisting in the planning of LSS’ academic-related events. I intend to engage members through both formal and informal academic initiatives. These include:
- Organising research sharings
- Collaborating more with other societies on hosting academic talks
- Connecting students with seniors/alumni to receive guidance and mentorship, especially in the areas of internship/year in industry/PhD applications
- and many more!
Despite being a fresher, I believe I have the qualities needed for the role. I have experience with management and leadership: I led multiple societies in high school, and co-founded a successful mental health initiative in Singapore that raised money for charity. Being adaptable and resilient means I can quickly overcome challenges. Communicative and sociable, I collaborate well with others, and will work with committee members in the planning and execution of events, ensuring transparency in decision-making and administration to maintain the quality and longevity of LSS.
Thank you for considering me as your next LSS Academic Secretary. I am excited to carry forward the 23-24 committees’ good work to take the society even further, and I appreciate your support!
