Colin Lee

I am running for the president of the Liberal Democrat Society, motivated by a profound belief in our core principles of liberty, equality, and community. My academic interest in Politics and International Relations at UCL, enriched by my service in the South Korean Air Force, has prepared me to take on this leadership role.

A defining moment for me was the privilege of meeting Sir Ed Davey, whose insights on policy and leadership have deeply inspired me. Furthermore, my internship with Councillor Robert Kim of Kingston, another dedicated Liberal Democrat, has offered me a firsthand look at effective community engagement and the impact of thoughtful leadership.

Drawing on these experiences, I aim to lead our society to foster a more inclusive, active, and impactful community. I believe in creating a platform where every member feels empowered to contribute, ensuring our activities reflect the values of the Liberal Democrats and address our members' unique interests and concerns. As president, I plan to continue to expand our presence on campus by hosting a variety of events, such as our speakers series. I am especially keen to work with our party as we prepare for the upcoming general election.

With a vision to bridge communities and drive forward meaningful initiatives, I am committed to listening, learning, and leading with integrity. I ask for your support to achieve these objectives together.

Joey Mehta

As the only continuing committee member from 23/24 I am standing to continue on the success of the previous year, hosting more events with MPs, candidates and great speakers in UCL and at Parliament.

Given the importance of this coming year to politics in the UK and abroad, I hope to pursue productive and healthy discourse by engaging more with other political societies, groups and ideas in UCL and elsewhere, and host more formal debates with other political society groups. On top of this of course I want to continue hosting more amazing spirited discussions which have been a personal highlight.

On top of all this, elections are only fought and won through campaigning and as such I would work with and encourage our dedicated campaigns officer to help facilitate collaboration between us and LibDem groups across Camden, London and beyond.

If you want someone with experience and committed to the cause ;) then I would appreciate your vote!
