Legal Tech Society: President

Hi, I’m Sonia, and I would love to be your President!

This year, as the current Events Coordinator, I have enjoyed actively engaging with our events, such as the A&O virtual seminar, and it was fantastic to see our members gaining invaluable insight into legal tech initiatives at the firm. With leadership experience from establishing volunteering initiatives and organisational skills as a legal research assistant, I am eager to foster a stronger sense of community and support within the Society.

As President, I aim to build upon such experiences, leading an informed community with greater opportunities to engage with professionals and services at the forefront of legal technology.

As your President, I will focus on:

• Community Expansion – fostering a more engaged community via creating more avenues for collaboration with legal professionals, tech experts, and other university societies (e.g. FinTech Soc).
• Event Enhancement – offering a diverse range of events tailored to your interests and requests! This could include a monthly seminar series with tech professionals from fields beyond commercial law, as well as regular socials, both internally and in collaboration with other societies.
• Professional Development – forging and maintaining partnerships with prominent legal tech organisations (e.g. Avvoka) to curate exclusive skill-specific workshops, equipping our members with practical skills amidst this evolving field.
