Moaz Saber

Assalamu’Alaykum wa rahmatullahi wa barakatuh (May the peace, mercy, and blessings of Allah be with you),

I am Moaz, a third-year Medicine student currently intercalating in iBSc Mathematics, Computers, and Medicine at UCL. My academic journey has not only been about personal growth but also about understanding the pivotal role of community in our lives. The Islamic Society has been a cornerstone of my university experience, especially during my second year when I witnessed the profound impact of Charity Week, illustrating the ISoc's commitment to charitable initiatives.

Drawing from the wisdom of the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) who taught us, "The believer to the believer is like a building whose different parts enforce each other," I am inspired to contribute towards strengthening our community.

As a candidate for the ISoc committee, my manifesto focuses on:

  • Enhancing the social and spiritual fabric of our Muslim community on campus through regular events and gatherings.
  • Strengthening ties with sponsors, and exploring new partnerships with Muslim organizations and charities to support our endeavors.
  • Expanding our budget through grant applications and leveraging alumni relations for sponsorship and event funding.
  • Advocating for sustainable funding solutions for Ramadan observances during term time, in collaboration with the SU and UCL.

I am committed to elevating the ISoc's role in fostering a supportive and vibrant Muslim community at UCL.

JazakumAllah Khayran! (May Allah reward you!)
