Iranian Society: President

I want to run for president of Iranian society as I am an Iranian living in the diaspora who really felt disconnected with my culture growing up - just like many other Iranian students around me. After spending so much time engaging with the Iranian society - attending the Yalda events, the Nowruz Events, the spring festival last year, multiple games nights - I’ve really honed on my knowledge of my cultural heritage. For this reason, I really want to continue the amazing work the current president and committee have done so that I can do the exact same for others who were in my position. I would love to do more collaborative projects with other societies that are similar culturally, and even Law Society given that I am a law student too (perhaps discussion panels where we bring an Iranian speaker to talk about and educate people on Iran's history - something that not many people know at all!). I really also want to kick start Iranian dance classes as an initiative because dance is so integral to my culture, and I know a lot of my Iranian friends have spoken about wanting to learn about dancing Irani-style - for both men and separate classes for women to promote inclusivity. Ultimately, I am running for this position so that I can continue the amazing work that the president previously has been doing, and also try and promote our society more to bring in more Iranians and engage them with university life.
