My aim is to create a more inclusive space for people throughout all the years , and to organise a bigger variety of socials that are more suitable for peoples beliefs and lifestyles . This year i have been the representative for the first years' year abroad course , and have communicated and engaged in meetings, socials and helped to unite the first years as a cohort during the start of their university journey. Overall , i'm an outgoing person, able to work part of a team and take on any feedback efficiently. Hope to see you all as your president next year !!

Hi, I'm Milla and I'm nominating myself to continue as President of the Institute of the Americas Society, as I believe in enabling student voices and creating a welcoming community within UCL. My goal is to get the most out of our department by creating an environment that is accessible and inclusive to all.

My experience has given me the skills and knowledge to make this happen. As Student Rep, I am well-versed in responding to student feedback, taking action to make change. Upon hearing frustrations about the lack of departmental community, we took the initiative to re-affiliate the Society where I am currently President. In a short space of time, I have driven its mobilisation achieving a lot: hosting socials, fostering staff-student relationships, and establishing a social media page that I run and produce the content for, sky-rocketing my Canva screen time but that's a sacrifice I am willing to make. This means I understand the technicalities and effort involved in getting things done; skills I will take into next year.

Entering my third year, I've learnt the ropes of UCL and I'm eager to put this to use. I have so many aspirations for the Society's future. I will ensure it is an inclusive place for all whilst being a friendly face people can come to at any time. As President, I have already gone through the steps and procedures to get the Society back on its feet, and am thoroughly invested in seeing where we can take it moving forward.
