Hello, Hello!! I’m Himanshu Keshari, a second-year economics student! To start with, I bravely discount the ‘econ kid nerdy tag’ for myself! To say the least, I miss the Indian vibe as much as I enjoy London’s diversity!
Having been an active member of the Indian Society for the past two years, I am motivated to continue the legacy forward:) By attending many events, I have gained first-hand experience in the society’s management and the families' scheme! As the UCL’s Societies Officer’24, I have gained extensive experience in leadership and execution which I think is fundament to organising socials! The main agenda includes:
Inclusive Cultural Celebrations: Aim to organize a series of events throughout the year to celebrate Indian festivals like Diwali and Holi and create spaces where students can come together to enjoy traditional music, dance, and food.
First-Year Social Mixers: Remember the overwhelming experience of your first day at UCL? Crazy, isn’t it? I aim to host regular social mixers, providing opportunities for Indian Society members to meet and connect over theme nights, and fostering friendships and networks.
Inter-Society Collaborations: I will actively seek collaborations with other cultural societies to deliver a wholesome social experience. Joining events that celebrate our diverse heritages and promote cross-cultural understanding reminds me of the International Cultural Festival!
Lastly, my experience as the Treasurer of London Global Shapers has enhanced my execution and operation
