Ria Herlekar

Hi, I am Ria, I’m a first-year medic and I’m excited to be running for this year’s social secretary!

Being a part of Hindu society has definitely been one of the highlights of my year, whether it be making friends through the Hindu society families or watching the amazing performances rangeela had to offer.

Over the past few years, I have worked as a mehendi artist in my local community, organising mehendi events for weddings as well as running workshops before Diwali. These experiences have helped nurture my organisation and communication by talking to and liaising between individuals, I believe these skills will transfer into my role and help me plan some of the best socials. Some ideas I’d like to incorporate next year would be:

•Running more frequent bollywood movie or mehendi nights with chai and mithai in collaboration with other societies

•Providing more opportunities for individuals to showcase their musical and artistic abilities with sangeet performances, bhajan nights and galleries.

•Introducing a weekly quiz for society members to attend and learn more about the Hindu religion but with a competitive edge.

I believe I’d be a great fit for this role as I see myself as an outgoing, fun, and approachable person. I’d love to plan events keeping both religion and fun at their very core, building relationships between different universities and societies, but ultimately making memories that we can all take with us into the future.

Aaditya Kumar

I am eager to contribute my organisational skills and creativity to elevate our members' social experiences. In the past year, I have attended a lot of social events as a member of my Rangeela and Just Bollywood dance teams. This has given me a lot of insight into what people enjoy in social events.

Furthermore, building on my background as the founder of the charity club and leading various student council initiatives in high school, I am well-prepared to plan and execute a diverse range of social events. From coordinating fundraising activities to organising community outreach programs, I have cultivated my ability to generate innovative ideas and bring people together for shared experiences.

I will apply this same passion and resourcefulness to curate engaging socials such as Cast socials during Rangeela and the annual Welcome Mela. Furthermore, my ability to collaborate with a wide variety of people will enable me to work effectively with the sports directors to plan socials for our sport teams.

Aditya Agrey

I have experience planning various musical events back home with my dad, so I believe I am a good fit for this role and would like to have a greater presence within Hindu Soc. I also enjoy event planning and would love to bring my experience to the table by being more involved with organisation that ran amazing events which really made my first year run such as Diwali Ball, Garba and many more and to allow next year's freshers to have an amazing experience with Hindu Soc. I also greatly enjoy team working and it would be great to work with many new faces!
