Hindu Society: President

for vibes

Hindu society, a place to foster ideas and thoughts align with Sanatan Dharma. As FYR, I've further realised the importance of a Hindu society - a home away from home, uniting individuals with similar backgrounds. Hi, I’m Soham Bhansali, a first year student running for president! 

Inclusivity. Through a wider range of events, such as weekly aartis, bhajans, debates, discussions, yoga and socials, a welcoming space for exploring individual dharma will be created! Next year, I plan to introduce teaching elements to raise awareness of our rich philosophies while giving opportunities to engage with knowledgeable personalities. 

A fundamental part of a society is to be close-knit with its members, and there’s no better way than through friendly competitive sports. In the upcoming year, new sports like netball, indoor cricket, kabaddi, kho-kho and more will be introduced! Furthermore there will be a greater push to compete against other Hindu societies, giving an opportunity to meet with like minded individuals across the UK. 

In the past 5 years, I founded 3 societies, serving president of 4. As the founder of the current largest high-school Hindu Society in the UK, I organised and led 3, first of their kind, inter-school Diwali fundraiser events accumulating over £10,000 for various charities! 

As your president, I would love to hear your ideas and thoughts to make our society more engaging and memorable while having the best possible year in terms of scale and depth of events!
