Candidates

Aaditya Kumar

As a candidate for the Head of Marketing position in the Hindu Society, I am eager to apply my extensive experience in social media management and content creation to ensure the success of our events and activities. My background in leading high school clubs' social media teams, coupled with my proficiency in poster creation and video editing, uniquely qualifies me for this role.

Throughout my high school years, I actively contributed to various clubs' social media teams, gaining hands-on experience in managing multiple platforms and creating engaging content. This experience has honed my ability to effectively communicate our message to our audience and drive engagement.

In addition, my expertise in poster creation using platforms like Canva and video editing skills with iMovie and Filmora will be instrumental in designing and producing promotional material for all our events. I understand the importance of visual appeal in capturing the attention of our audience and conveying information effectively.

Furthermore, as the Head of Marketing, I will coordinate with the Marketing and Sales Officers to delegate work effectively and ensure that our marketing efforts align with the society's objectives. I will produce a schedule during the summer for posts that must be created over the year, ensuring consistency and adherence to our marketing strategy.

Asmi Panda

Hi everyone, I’m Asmi, a first-year medic running for Head of Marketing! Since being a member of Hindu Society, I have deepened my faith, forged connections, and become part of a diverse, tight-knit community. I would love to carry on this experience as part of the committee!

Through social media, I want to showcase our culture while creating a positive impact. Having worked with tools such as Canva and Adobe Photoshop through 6th form, I am eager to use my creativity to promote events in a unique way. Through running small-scale shows at my music school, I have developed leadership and time management skills to ensure that things run smoothly on time. Also, I understand the TikTok algorithm and have experience filming and editing many, some of which have accumulated tens of thousands of views. I am adaptable, organised and value planning to help my team meet deadlines. I have developed interpersonal skills through being a member of Braj Gopika Seva Mission UK, helping them promote events. I am eager to apply what I have learnt from these experiences to this role.

I am also excited to make some positive changes. For example, asking people to share their opinions using surveys, creating online contests about Hindu culture to create buzz, and interviewing knowledgeable personalities, to name a few things.

Overall, I would love to be Head of Marketing for Hindu Society. I believe I have the right skills, experiences, and ideas to represent Hindu Society proudly in the best way!

Niveka Liyanagoonawardana

Hi, I’m Niveka and I am a first-year Medic who is running for the Head of Marketing position. The first event I attended at UCL was Garba and this was due to the amazing outreach the previous sales and marketing team displayed. Therefore, I understand the importance of good, well thought out marketing. I want to continue this by ensuring that engaging posters/posts and TikToks are made to make HSOC have an even more successful year!

UCL Hindu Society has been a huge part of my first year and I have met some of my closest friends from attending the majority of HSOC events and becoming a part of an amazing HSOC family.

After founding my own society during sixth form, I was able to harness both graphic design, leadership and marketing skills to promote the society to the rest of the school.  Therefore, my expertise and experience in not only editing posters and creating videos, but leading a team and being organised, will ensure the success of HSOC this upcoming year! This experience I had in sixth form demonstrated how important marketing is to any society and I am ready to build and aid the growth of Hindu Soc.

Overall, I am a proud member of Hindu Society and I hope to add to an already amazing committee!
