Vote for me, I'll organise more socials than we have this year. More pub crawl socials, less board game nights. Also greenough merch, and greenough funded merch.

Neha Kulkarni

Hey fellow Earth Scientists! I am Neha Kulkarni, a 1st-year Geology student and I've put myself forward to be a Greenough Social secretary because I want to advertise and create memorable experiences for all people, students and professors alike, in this department.

With a proven track record in event planning and advertising through hosting many events in my Sixth form LGBTQ+ club and Sustainability group, I am ready to bring that into this department.

Do you know what I think this department really needs? More free drinks and food! As I've been involved in Greenough since term 1, I know the ins and outs of this society and already have many great event ideas up my sleeve. This includes, but is not limited to, more pub crawls, board game nights, movie nights, hiking trips, and possibly even overnight trips! (All these events will be partially subsidised by us if you have a membership). I am also very active on Instagram and will aim to recruit more Greenoughers throughout my year 2.

Vote for me and I promise you will have a banging time in year 2 with me planning amazing events frequently :)

Parzaan Merchant

Hey, This is Paz and I kinda like rocks!

Over my first few months at UCL, Greenough events have been a really fun opportunity to get to know my fellow coursemates. As part of UCL board games, I have also had some time to familiarise myself with the roles and responsibilities of being part of a society committee.

As social secretary, I aim to:

  • Continue advertising and hosting events ongoing events, such as board game nights and pub crawls.
  • Introduce monthly geology movie nights, complete with snacks (and followed by a trip to the pub).
  • Organise termly overnight field trips to sights of geological interest near London.
  • Offer subsidised hikes and rock-climbing sessions for our members.
  • Collaborating with the department and the wider UCL alumni community to run engaging seminars and Q&A panels in addition to the ones already in place.
  • Explore implementing mineral identification help sessions for incoming first years (with a subsequent pub visit, naturally!).
  • Prioritise member feedback to ensure that events are accessible and enjoyable.

Finally, with Earth Sciences being undeniably the best department at UCL; it would be a fantastic opportunity to contribute back to a community which has made my time at UCL fairly enjoyable.
