Alexander Anderson

Hi everyone!

My name is Alexander and I’m a first year student of French and Spanish. I have a passion for politics and I want to make a difference in the Government and Politics society.

I noticed that the Politics society hasn’t organised any events this year, which is a shame because there are so many opportunities to learn, debate, and network with people who share our interest in politics.

That’s why I’m applying for the position of Head of Events. I have a lot of experience in creating events for a new organisation, as I founded the London Culture Society in September. As President, I have organised over 15 events for it, ranging from musicals to a trip to Parliament.

I have also attended many events organised by other politically minded societies, such as the Diplomacy society, the MUN society, and the IR society. I have learned a lot from these events and I have gained insights into what makes an event successful and engaging.

I have the skills and the vision to plan and execute events that will appeal to the members of the Politics society and attract new ones. I have experience in negotiating with venues and speakers, collaborating with other societies, and managing budgets and logistics.

I have great teamwork, time management and communication skills, as I hold several positions in other societies, such as the Deputy Chief Editor for the Diplomat, First Year Rep for both French and Spanish, and Team Member at the BBI thinktank. I can work well with others as well as working independently where
