Sofia Dessenis

Hello everyone! My name is Sofia and as your current Event Officer, I'm excited to run for Treasurer, alongside Alois for President!

This past year as your Event Officer has given me an important understanding of how our society operates and its unique role in bringing together French natives, building connections, and extending our culture to those who cherish it. Having played a significant role within the society already, I truly believe it makes me ready to be Treasurer next year, ready to build on the past year and bring the society to new heights.

Working closely with Alois, who is running for President, we have set ourselves multiple goals and have in mind a dream team to achieve them.

• Continue our weekly French classes for French learners.
• Having launched successfully the Football team this year, we aim to take this initiative to the next level, truly building a community around a sport that is so dear to us Frenchies, and hopefully around other sports.
• We are also extremely keen on organising speaker events, bringing important French figures and voices to our members. 
• We wish to help with student orientation, inviting university and company representatives to network exclusively with our students.
• We also know that being French also means drinks and dancing all night long, so don’t you worry, we’ll also be planning that :)
