Evelyn Kwan

Hi everyone!

I'm Evelyn, an incoming second-year student studying Management Science! (Don't hate the business student just yet) I enjoy watching films, making films and everything content related! The role of treasurer for Film&TV soc is a mix of my two favourite interests - film and money.

As a production member this year, I really enjoyed attending the various talks that exposed me to different areas of films and participating in the 48 hour film challenge - which was such a nice introduction to supportive environment Film&TV society has created. Previously in high school, I had experience calculating production costs of documentaries and applying for fundings to source props and costumes. I am easy to communicate with, adaptable, and always open to new perspectives! Hopefully I can help everyone next year in managing their film budgets and carrying on the legacy of the society!

Thanks for reading this and would really appreciate your support :)

Sam Prescott

I have really enjoyed being Treasurer of FilmSoc this past year and would love the opportunity to continue this next year to make the society even better than it already is (couldn’t think of anything more cliché, unfortunately). I believe I have the skills required to continue this role, having successfully acquired grants for the society, for covering the film stock of the society short “Pigeon-livered” (shot last year), and our shiny new selection of LED lighting that we have just received. I have loved seeing people’s projects take shape and have enjoyed the opportunity to help people. I have also got really good(!) at all the boring form filling that helps the society keep turning, which I actually enjoy (strange, I know). I believe I would be able to help the new President run the society smoothly and to the best it can be.
