I've been a member of filmsoc committee for 2 years, you might know me as the guy you email to get a camera, or if you're from drama soc, I'm the guy you email 2 hours before you need to use the studio for a photoshoot you'd planned for weeks.
When I started at UCL I didn't know this society even existed, but over my time here I have realised it is one of the greatest student institutions in the world, with a deep and prestigious history.
As archive officer I would digitally scan and make accessible all of our film reels and photographs, making the history of the university, the students union and the society available to all and preserving it forever.

Media and the digital age are powerful vehicles that have the potential to create powerful change and impact. This excites me. I believe in sharing stories and as Archive Officer, bringing to light UCL Film Society's rich tapestry of student led films can inspire future UCL students to get involved in their passions and empowering them to realise their potential. Archiving UCL's films into a hub through digital means (and potentially physical means too, such as showcase events) mean that students can leave a permanent and lasting mark with their work. Platforming this has the potential to inspire other students, showcase UCL talent and expand opportunities and recognition for UCL students.
