Natalie Wickremasinghe

Hi! My name is Natalie and I'm a postgraduate law student. I would like to run for the position of 'Social Media & Outreach Officer' so I can be more actively involved with the work The Female Lead undertakes and help promote the importance of feminism and gender equality at UCL.

I feel passionate about the mission of this charity, which is to create lasting change for women by amplifying their voices and improving their economic outcomes. I would love to work with the rest of the committee to help effectively convey this message and ensure our social media pages are an active source of information.

I am currently the Media and Communications Rep for the Women’s Network at UCL and I have previously been on the committee of two societies during my undergraduate degree, as a marketing officer and social media officer. One of these societies was a charity that operated similarly to The Female Lead, as we helped promote the organisation on campus and raised money for them through our events. Therefore, I am comfortable with working alongside an external organisation; working as part of a committee; designing social media posts; and believe I am a good fit for this role.

Thank you for your consideration!

Sarah Gu

As someone deeply passionate about amplifying the voices of women and promoting gender diversity and empowerment within our society and beyond, it's inspiring to see the UCL Female Lead Society's dedication to supporting women's causes.

As the social media and outreach officer, I will post regularly to ensure that important information, updates, and announcements reach our members in a clear and engaging manner, facilitating their participation. Having thoroughly enjoyed the diversity of events, I am eager to expand the society's reach to attract new members, allowing more individuals to join our insightful sessions and conversations.

As a content creator myself, I enjoy designing Instagram posts using Canva and exploring interactive tools to reach a wider audience, such as utilising polls and quizzes. I will actively encourage input and ideas from our members by posting regular feedback and suggestion forms to create a welcoming community where everyone feels heard and valued.

Additionally, I will reach out to professors, charities (such as The Female Lead itself!) and other societies for collaborations to expand our community and offer our members a wider range of activities. Drawing from my experience working with charities to coordinate collaboration with university students, I thrive in collaborative environments and am eager to work closely with other lovely committee members to build a supportive environment.
