Economics and Finance Society: Vice President of Socials

I am thrilled to stand for the position of Vice President - Socials for the UCL Economics and Finance Society. My strong affinity for the society, shaped by active participation in numerous speaker sessions, has instilled in me a profound appreciation for the enriching experiences it offers. As VP - Socials, I aim to leverage my well-honed organizational skills to curate engaging and memorable events, giving back to the society that has provided me with so much inspiration. My background in organizing successful events and effective communication and leadership skills were developed through leading the school's Economics Club. I am committed to fostering a vibrant and inclusive social environment for society members. Additionally, my extensive network of professionals, ranging from Goldman Sachs partners to law firm associates, presents an exciting opportunity to bring influential voices to our events, enriching the experiences of our members with valuable insights and networking opportunities. I am eager to contribute my passion, skills, and network to elevate the social dimension of the UCL Economics and Finance Society.

My name is Anant Lal, and I am currently an Analyst at Bloomsbury Capital and a First-Year Executive within UCL Guild. With a rich background in economics and a deep-seated passion for finance, I am running for the position of Vice President of Socials within EFS this year.

My agenda focuses on creating an inclusive, dynamic, and enriching environment that encourages networking, learning, and fun among our members. Here's what I plan to implement:

Innovative Social Events: I aim to introduce a range of creative and engaging social events. These will not only provide a platform for relaxation and enjoyment but also help create meaningful connections among members.
Professional Networking Opportunities: Leveraging my connections within the finance industry, I plan to organise social events with a professional twist. This includes alumni events, industry insight sessions, and informal meetups with professionals, providing members with invaluable networking opportunities.
Skill Development Workshops: To support career development, I intend to organise workshops and sessions focusing on developing soft skills such as public speaking, teamwork, and leadership.
